Our commitment
It is the University of Toronto’s goal to create a community that is inclusive of all persons and treats all members of the community in an equitable manner. In creating such a community, the University aims to foster a climate of understanding and mutual respect for the dignity and worth of all persons.
In working toward this goal, the University will strive to provide support for, and facilitate the accommodation of, individuals with disabilities so that all may share the same level of access to opportunities, participate in the full range of activities that the University offers, and achieve their full potential as members of the University community.
At the Centre for Learning Strategy Support, fostering inclusive learning environments is core to our mission. We attend closely to the lasting impacts of intersecting historical injustices, and we see supporting individuals with diverse abilities as a cardinal imperative in our work.
Our physical spaces
Our department’s offices are located on the 5th floor of 800 Bay Street, on the northwest corner of Bay Street and College Street. When arriving from street level, you’ll find accessible entrances to the left and right of a glass revolving door. Upon entering the building, a bank of elevators will be directly ahead. When emerging on the 5th floor, the Student Success reception team will be in front of you or slightly to your right, depending on which elevator you’ve taken.
Our events often take place in buildings located on the St. George campus in downtown Toronto. Learn more about barrier-free parking on campus, each venue’s entrances and facilities and the University’s design standards and guidelines for welcoming service animals and support persons.
Questions about the University’s commitment to the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) can be shared with the University’s AODA Office at aoda@utoronto.ca. Other policies salient to our shared accessibility responsibilities are maintained by the University’s Governing Council, including its most recent affirmation of commitment to persons with disabilities.
